Home Grown Success features "More than code”, the latest iteration of JOURNi's programming that will enhance student's confidence in shaping their own future. JOURNi will use its three-pronged approach of coding education, entrepreneurship training, and mentorship to deliver culturally competent instruction to students that will build self-awareness, a confidence to create, and expectation of success.
More than Code is a 14-week, 4 hour a week program that takes high school students through one semester of intense coding education, mentorship, and entrepreneurship training. The course teaches student front-end web development using the culturally competent curriculum and includes intense entrepreneurship training created by JOURNi. Students will complete several web projects, including a personal website, Capstone Project on their Passion. More than Code also features an interactive mentorship program where students learn directly from tech professionals for a week and complete projects based on the mentor’s profession.
Successful Completion of this program can lead directly to a paid summer Internship with our Development Shop where Students will deliver digital products and services to our paying Clients.
